Over the cutting edge of the glass,
over a tangible hug,
in an apparent shared space...also if divided...
"Through the glass" is a path of glances, of silences, it is a physical and virtual journey, the story of a game of relationships and emotions between two lovers. The story is told passing through the glass and charting the action and inaction of two bodies, of two minds, in a space formed by the footprints of the passage of life. The lovers accompany the spectators maintaining the footstep of his/her own thought.
Francesco Arena is skillfully knowledgeable of human emotions. He lets them flow by, without pushing them, to tell hidden and melancholic truths in a cinematic atmosphere in which a static couple breaks the silence of the deceiving lack of communication.
Serrated and suffering looks alternate with neurotic jolts dictated by the need one for the other, divided as they are by a physical and mental "greenhouse effect” stopping impulses and desires. A skiillfully-told love story where professional actors tell the non-possibility of love.
