About Jocelyn Childs
Hi my name is Jocelyn Childs and I AM Joyful Ink. I'm creating a shoe brand that concentrates on style, diversity, and individuality. As a young child I had a passion for art and I had plenty of time to practice my skills growing up in a single parent home with no siblings. We were by all definition... poor. My dad sometimes came to visit and would take me out to the mall or he would bring the latest outfit or a nice clean pair of sneakers. I relished in my new name brands and everyone always asked about the latest shoe gifts from my dad. I saw art in every pair he bought and I developed a love for sneakers. I'll never forget when I turned 9 years of age my daddy told me he was leaving the state and I would never see him again. You guessed it...those high end sneakers and clothes went out the door with him. From then on I wore Payless Brand or too big hand-me-downs from my cousins but my love for the shoe never died. I vowed I would one day own every shoe I ever wanted, you see shoes and clothes were important to me and they still are today.
